How to Register for LIRRC Races

LIRRC has DAY-OF-RACE registration only! Just show up at the park and sign up!

The Long Island Road Runners Club holds races nearly every week of the year from the beginning of March until the end of December. Since this is the case, we do not have advance registration for any of our races. To register, simply show up at Eisenhower Park on the day of the race, sign a waiver form and bring it to the registration table. Race fee is $6 for members and $11 for non-members.

We hold our races in front of the Main Field House, which is between Parking Lots 1 and 2. If you are not familiar with Eisenhower Park, it is located in East Meadow with main entrances on Hempstead Turnpike and Stewart Avenue. Parking Lot 2 is the first lot when you enter from the Hempstead Turnpike entrance and the last lot if you enter from the Stewart Avenue entrance. Parking Lot 1 is on Merrick Avenue, just north of Hempstead Turnpike.

To reach Eisenhower Park by public transportation, take the Long Island Railroad to the Westbury Blvd. station. When you exit the train, walk to Post Ave., make a left and walk to the Merrick Avenue entrance to the Park (Post Rd. turns into Merrick Ave. after you cross Old Country Road). The walk from the train station to the Main Field House is about two miles. Alternatively, you can take the N70, N71, or N72 bus to Eisenhower Park. It will leave you off on Hempstead Turnpike within walking distance to the park. There is a walk-in entrance to the park right across the street from Wendy's and the Main Field House is straight ahead. Please check www.lirr.org for both rail road and bus schedules.

There are a variety of ways to get to Eisenhower Park by car. Please use Yahoo Maps, Google Maps or other mapping site and fill in 1878 Hempstead Tpke., East Meadow, NY as your destination, which is the address closest to the main entrance to the park on Hempstead Tpke.
